Whitsons Culinary Group is seeking a School Cook to support a nutrition program by preparing nutritious meals according to school menus. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a busy school kitchen.

You’ll work Monday through Friday with a family-friendly schedule, paid training, and consistent hours. The job includes opportunities for growth and a chance to contribute to student health and learning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; must complete all Whitsons and government-required training as necessary.
• Minimum 1 year of professional culinary or food service experience; school nutrition/institutional experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification required or must obtain within a defined timeframe on hire; local food safety certification required in any jurisdiction of employment.
• Must be proficient in recipe procedures and cooking techniques; English reading and speaking sufficient to follow recipes and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of meals according to school menus.
• Ensure all food is safely cooked and presented with care.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
• Work with team members to serve meals in a timely, friendly manner.
• Support special dietary needs and food allergy safety procedures.
