Job summary

Cedar Rapids Community School District Wright Elementary School – Cedar Rapids, Iowa is hiring a Food Service Assistant to support daily food service operations. The role follows a nine-month schedule with summers off and offers district benefits per the work agreement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of school food service program, nutritional standards, and sanitation.
• Ability to build effective relationships and support a team environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate general food service duties including preparation and handling.
• Assist with cooking as needed and wash/dry pots and silverware.
• Serve as POS for breakfast and lunch, verify reimbursable meals.
• Process daily tally counts for claim reimbursement and assist with cleanup.
• Maintain open communication with staff and participate in trainings.
• Arrive on time and follow building/department procedures.
