Job summary

Spencerport School District is seeking a part-time Food Service Helper to assist in Cosgrove Middle School's kitchen. Responsibilities include food prep, serving, cash handling, and maintaining sanitary standards. Applicants must be fingerprinted and cleared by the NYS Education Department before employment begins.

Position is 10 months, 3 hours daily (10:30am–1:45pm). Starting wage is $16.58 per hour, based on experience, with NYS pension and paid leave benefits. Start date ASAP.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates proficiency in cash handling and accurate cashier duties.
• Good communication, manual dexterity, and ability to work under time constraints.
• Safely operate, clean and maintain utensils and equipment used in a school kitchen.
• Follow written recipes and menus; adhere to sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• General kitchen work: preparation of foods, dishing/portioning, set up of serving lines, serving and cleanup.
• Maintain health, safety and sanitary practices as required by regulatory agencies and safe operation of kitchen equipment.
