Job summary

Heritage Academy in Arizona is seeking a dedicated assistant to support teachers and students in a friendly, orderly environment. You will assist scholars and families, work one-on-one with students, and help with physical education and transportation duties.

Required qualifications include a High School degree with an Associate’s degree preferred, and 1–3 years in an academic setting. Valid driver’s license and fingerprint clearance are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.

• Fingerprint clearance per A.R.S 15-512 is required and must be maintained.

• Transports scholars in school vans.
• Fill in for teachers when needed.

As an integral part of Heritage Academy, this position will assist Teachers in the helping all scholars in a friendly and professional manner while adhering to all practices consistent with Heritage culture, strategy, and values.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Works with scholars, one on one, in education classes
• Supports Physical Education classes
• Transports scholars in school vans
• Fill in for teachers, if needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths

Education: High School degree required; Associate’s degree preferred

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in an academic setting is preferred.

Type of fingerprint clearance: Shall be fingerprint checked pursuant to A.R.S 15-512

Must have valid driver's license: This position involves driving to various locations on and off campus to transport students.

Physical functions: Must be able to remain in a stationary (standing or sitting) position for 50% of the time; may move around the campus 50% of the time.

Equipment used: Frequent computer and telephone use is expected.

Work Environment: May be required to move or position equipment up to 30 pounds. May be exposed to outdoor weather.
