Job summary

The School District of Philadelphia is seeking a bilingual School Improvement Support Liaison to help connect supports for students and families, coordinate school improvement activities, and build community partnerships. This role serves on the School Advisory Council and acts as a liaison between school, parents, guardians, and community to promote student success.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of full-time, paid social services experience working in a school setting or with children, parents, or community organizations.
• All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all necessary records including daily activity logs.
• Serves as a member of the attendance team.
• Assists in the completion of documents needed for truancy prevention and intervention processes.
• Serves as a liaison between school and parents/guardians and community.
• Collaborates with instructional staff on parent and student information sessions concerning curriculum, interventions, and academic support activities.
• Assists in the development of agendas, presentations, and professional development for parent and student meetings and committees related to school improvement.
• Works with individual students or small groups of students.
• Schedules and facilitates individual parent/guardian meetings at school or the parent's home.
• Tracks data to address the needs of students and families.
• Supports and advocates student and parent participation in extended instructional and non-instructional opportunities.
• Acts as a liaison for SES for eligible students.
• Responds to concerns and issues raised by parents, students and community organizations.
• Assists with the implementation of district policies, School Reform Commission actions, and grant mandates.
