Broward County Public Schools is seeking a Registered Nurse for School Health in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The role focuses on maintaining and improving students' health to support their learning, working through home, school, and community collaboration.

The nurse will supervise staff, apply nursing theory in school settings, develop individualized health plans, and coordinate health services for students with chronic conditions.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two years clinical nursing experience in med-surg, pediatrics or similar.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Florida State Board of Nursing in good standing.
• Current CPR or BLS certification according to standards.
• Successful completion of medication and universal precautions tests.

Responsabilités

• Supervise staff in the performance of job duties.
• Apply nursing theory as the basis for decisions in the school setting.
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive school health program per regulations.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate paraprofessionals and determine supervision needs.
• Develop individualized health plans using the nursing process.
• Coordinate referrals and communicate health needs to school personnel.
• Complete written reports to provide continuity and accountability.
