Job summary

Utica Community Schools is seeking a Health Resource Paraprofessional for a floating position in Sterling Heights, MI. Immediate start, 7 hours per day, location TBD, with responsibilities in health-related student support and documentation.

Responsibilities include assisting medically fragile students with personal needs, maintaining calm under pressure, and collaborating with district nurses. Training provided for health areas; district policies apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work with medically challenged students.
• Ability to stay calm and communicate under stress.
• Assist with personal needs including hygiene and dressing.
• Willingness to be trained in health-related areas (anaphylaxis, asthma meds, diabetes care, seizures, etc.).
• Ability to work at multiple sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with personal care, including hygiene, toileting, and clothing.
• Monitor and respond to health needs, following district procedures.
• Document student information and maintain confidentiality; communicate with parents as required.
• Support classroom activities and be available in down-time periods (lunchroom, office).
• Adapt to changes in location and hours based on student needs.
