Job summary

The School Staff Nurse at Warren City Schools provides school health services to the student population served. This role delivers clinical care, maintains health records, and supports educational efforts within the department and hospital.

The nurse communicates effectively with management, parents/guardians, school authorities, and allied personnel. Experience in a school setting and pediatric nursing is preferred; BLS and RN licensure are required, with BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent; BSN preferred.
• RN licensure required; must be active.
• BLS certification required; minimum one year of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides school health services as directed by department and contracts.
• Provides the clinical care necessary within the department, including routine, special needs, and emergency first aid.
• Maintains appropriate student health records and documents services rendered.
• Participates in the educational efforts of the department and the hospital.
• Communicates effectively with management, parents/guardians, school authorities, and allied personnel.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
• Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with departmental/school/State and Federal, and Human Resource policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Other duties as required.
