Job summary

PanCare of Florida is seeking a skilled and compassionate School Health Nurse (LPN) to join our School Health team. In this role, you will provide direct nursing care to students under supervision and support the development of clinical programs designed to ensure the operational success of the School Health program.

The successful candidate will have an active Florida LPN license, NCLEX-PN completion, and prior healthcare experience.

• Successful completion of the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses).
• Active LPN license for the State of Florida.
• Experience working in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Following and enforcing school policies and procedures affecting health, safety and well-being of students and staff.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments per nursing standards.
• Performs routine diagnostic tests and treatments (temperature, pulse, BP, dressings, EKGs, diabetic care).
• Maintains patient charts and documentation per School Health program requirements.
• Performs CPR/AED as needed.

PanCare of Florida is seeking a skilled and compassionate School Health Nurse (LPN) to join our School Health team. In this role, you will assume responsibilities for direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician in patient care. You will provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the LPN as defined by the Florida Board of Nursing. You will work collaboratively with the corporate leadership, medical and clinic administrative staff, and billing personnel, to develop and implement well-balanced clinical programs designed to ensure the operational and strategic success of the School Health program.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

• Following and enforcing school policies and procedures affecting the health, safety and well-being of employees and students in the school health setting.
• Perform specialized medical procedures for students after receiving child specific training and delegation by registered nurse, including, but not limited to, clean catheterization, enteral tube feeding/medication, seizure care. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standard sand as directed by the physician.
• Perform routine diagnostic tests, medical treatments and procedures such as taking and recording temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure; changing sterile dressings, giving irrigations; EKGs, and diabetic management.
• Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids in the treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
• Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatment to physicians/nurse practitioners, School Health Supervisor , School Administrators and parent, as needed.
• Instructs patients on sample collection and testing.
• Arranges for patients testing and information.
• Orders, prepares, and inspects patients’ charts. Posts tests and examination results.
• Adheres to Clinical/Nursing Department policies and procedures.
• Complies with Infection Control and OSHA Regulations (handling and disposal of biomedical waste) for the center as per regulations.
• Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
• Monitors patient medication, supplies and equipment; notifies parent of the need to restock medication, supplies and equipment.
• Maintains patient charts and documentation per School Health program requirements.
• Perform CPR/AED as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Successful completion of the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses)
• An active LPN license for the State of Florida
• Experience working in a healthcare setting
