Job summary

PanCare of Florida is seeking a Health Technician to support school health services across Bay County schools. This full-time floating position administers medications, provides first aid, assists with health screenings, and responds to student health needs under supervision of licensed professionals.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, collaboration with nurses and administrators, and maintaining accurate health records. A Level 2 fingerprint background check and current BLS are required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of basic medical procedures and first aid.
  • Experience with record keeping and health documentation.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Must complete Level 2 fingerprint background check (state and federal).

Responsibilities

  • Follow and enforce school health policies affecting students and staff.
  • Administer medications and maintain proper documentation; inform guardians as needed.
  • Notify nurse, parent/guardian, and principal for acutely ill or injured students.
  • Assist with managing communicable diseases and conditions.
  • Complete head lice interventions, including detection, parent education, and re-admission screening.
  • Perform CPR/AED as needed.
  • Document and report services in the clinic per policy.
  • Assist in health screenings (hearing, vision, scoliosis, BMI) and coordinate follow-ups.
  • Support specialized procedures after training/delegation (e.g., glucose monitoring, insulin administration).
  • Oversee inventory and usage of first aid supplies; inform the Health Room needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality per district and PanCare of Florida policies.
  • Ensure all clinic paperwork is properly dispersed.

Are you passionate about student health and wellness? PanCare of Florida is looking for a Health Technician to join our School Health Team. In this role, you will play a critical role in providing care and support to students across Bay County schools. You will assist with day-to-day health services, including administering medications, providing first aid, supporting health screenings, and responding to student health needs. You will work under the supervision of licensed medical professionals and in collaboration with PanCare of Florida. You will help ensure a safe, healthy, and responsive school environment for all students.

This is position is Full-time Floating School Health Technician position.

Your responsibilities include the following:
  • Follow and enforce school policies affecting the health, safety and well-being of employees and students in the school health setting
  • Provide medication administration; maintaining proper documentation and provide parent awareness of the need to re-supply medication
  • Notify PanCare nurse, parent/guardian, and principal of acutely ill or injure students
  • Assist with managing communicable diseases and conditions
  • Complete head lice interventions; including detection, parent education andscreening for re-admission to school
  • Perform CPR/AED as needed
  • Documentation and data reporting of services provided in clinic according to established policy and procedure
  • Assist in provision of health screenings of students: hearing, vision, scoliosis, BMI and subsequent followup referrals as requested
  • Perform specialized medicalprocedures for students after receiving child specific training and delegation by registered nurse such as monitoring clean catheterization; perform or assist withblood glucose monitoring, carbohydrate counting, and insulin administration, and administering enteral gravity or pump feedings
  • Oversee inventory and usage of first aid and related health supplies and equipment; inform principal ofHealth Room needs
  • Comply with confidentiality requirements of the Bay County School District and PanCare of Florida, Inc
  • Ensure all paperwork generated in clinic will be dispersed following established policies and procedures
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Knowledge of basic medical procedures, first aid, and student health needs
  • Experience with record keeping, maintaining health documentation andmanaging health-related information
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Must complete Level 2 fingerprint background check, including both state and federal criminal history check
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least a year experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Experience working with children or in a school setting
  • Experience with Google shared drive
