Job summary

West Valley School District is seeking a Substitute CNA to join the health services team in Yakima, Washington. The CNA functions in an interdependent role to deliver care and assist in revisions of care plans with the school RN.

Responsibilities include medication administration, first aid, AED checks, and coordination with volunteers for screenings. The role requires WA CNA certification, First Aid/ CPR, and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and families in a school

Qualifications

• WA CNA certification and CPR/First Aid as required.
• Ability to administer medications and monitor student health.
• Experience working with school-age children preferred.
• Strong communication with staff, students, and families.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing tasks as directed by the RN including medication administration.
• Provides first aid and emergency services as necessary for students, staff, and visitors.
• Reviews inventory of health rooms and stocks supplies as necessary.
• Maintains communication with school nurse for direction and support.
• Train, supervise and delegate to designated staff for medications.
• Coordinate health screenings with volunteers and train staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as appropriate to the assignment.
