Job summary

Oakland Unified School District Health Services is seeking a Health Assistant in Oakland, CA to support basic health services for students and staff. The incumbent assists with first aid, screenings, and health documentation, under the supervision of the Health Services Supervisor.

This non-exempt position offers 6.0-hour days with options for 10 or 12-month calendars and a schedule of 181 or 261 days. Training and ongoing professional development are provided to ensure student wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school (or equivalent).
• Basic First Aid and CPR knowledge is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Administer basic first aid to students.
• Screen ill or injured students in accordance with procedures.
• Maintain and organize health records and documentation.
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.).
• Communicate with health providers, nurses, and families as needed.
• Support health services in daily operations and emergency response.
