Job summary

Vertex Education is seeking a Health Office professional to support student health needs, implement the school health program, and provide appropriate care or referrals. You will administer first aid and medications in line with district policy, create health records, document immunizations, screenings, and maintain health office operations.

Ideal candidates have school health experience or medical background, plus current licensure (CNA/RMA/EMT/RN) and CPR certification.

Qualifications

  • 6+ months of school health experience OR 1+ year of relevant medical experience.
  • Current certification/licensure: CNA, RMA, EMT, RN, or CPR.

Responsibilities

  • Notify student’s guardian of visits to the Health Office.
  • Offer care for student injuries.
  • Create an Arizona Health Record for each student.
  • Record immunizations, vision and hearing test results.
  • Maintain all prescription and non-prescription medication with proper security measures.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized office.
  • Maintain and rotate supplies.
  • Complete weekly accident and health office visit reports for Administrator.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings.
  • Conduct hearing and vision screening.
  • Complete and send immunization and hearing reports to state.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Providing support in addressing the health needs of students; assisting in implementing the school health program; and providing appropriate care and/or referral for ill, medically fragile and/or injured students. Administer first aid and medication to students according to district policy and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU UP FOR SUCCES
  • 6+ months of school health experience OR 1+ year of relevant medical experience OR Current certification/licensure as one of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Registered Nurse (RN) Active CPR Certification
  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS
  • 2+ years of School Health experience preferred
