Job summary

Vertex Education in Avondale, AZ is seeking a hands-on Campus Facility Assistant to support the Campus Facility Manager with cleaning, repairs, and inspections. This role involves physically performing tasks on campus and helping maintain safe, welcoming spaces for students and staff.

You will inspect facilities, submit repairs in Zendesk, assist with setting up meeting rooms, and help with deliveries and outdoor tasks.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance and cleaning procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to read and understand technical writing.

  • Assists with receiving campus deliveries as needed, including packages, boxes and other items, dispersing to required locations.
  • Puts up and takes down flag/s as needed.
  • Performs light cleaning, trash pick-up and maintenance in common areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

The employee in this classification will be expected to work in an outdoor and inside environment while cleaning and repairing equipment, furniture, and buildings. Able to work outside in high temperatures (up to and above 100 degrees) on a regular basis to complete landscape tasks. Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping, and long periods of concentration.

BACKGROUND CHECKS

The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check. Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times.
