Job summary

Legacy Traditional Schools is seeking a Substitute staff member to support campus operations and classroom activities across a K-8 environment. You will assist with driveline procedures, light cleaning, and material prep for teachers.

You will also help in classrooms, grade work, and create bulletin boards while supervising students during transitions, drills, and meals. A High School Diploma or GED is required and strong communication is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support campus staff and administrators in a K-8 setting.
• Assist driveline pickup/drop-off, lunch and recess duties, light cleaning.
• Prepare materials in copy room for teachers.
• Provide coverage for office staff by answering phones and checking in students.
• Assist teachers with grading and classroom visuals.
• Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce material.
• Maintain a positive, professional interaction with students.
• Supervise students during drills, assemblies, and play periods.
• Float to areas of need to support staff during shifts.
• Occasionally assist in drop-off/pick-up during inclement weather.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Substitute staff will work closely with staff, teachers, administrators, and other team members to provide the school with efficient processes and play an instrumental part in supporting students with educational benefits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Works with campus staff and administrators in a K-8 setting to support operational functions throughout the school.
• Ie. driveline pick-up/drop off and lunch and recess duty, light cleaning between lunch periods.
• Assist in the copy room prepping materials for teachers
• Provides breaks office staff coverage by answering phones and checking in students
• Supports teachers in the classroom with grading, creating bulletin boards, etc.
• Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
• Interacts with students is a positive professional manner engaging them in their learning
• Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, lunch periods and field trips.
• Floats to areas of need supporting staff breaks
• Periodically assist in the drop-off and pick-up of children through Driveline, possibly during inclement weather.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma/GED required
