Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks a Health Aide to provide on-campus health services, conduct mandated screenings, and ensure 100% immunization state compliance under the Director of Health Services. You will promote student health and maintain accurate health files.

Requirements include CNA or RMA certification, CPR/First Aid, and at least one year in a health-related role. IDEA offers comprehensive benefits, potential bonuses, and a supportive Team and Family culture.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year of health-related experience preferred (experience with school-age children is a plus).
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification required.
• Texas-specific vision/hearing/spinal/AN screenings certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care using nursing processes and health protocols.
• Serve as health advocate for students.
• Notify parents of accidents or illnesses and arrange medical care when needed.
• Coordinate administration of medications at school.
• Establish procedures for mandated screening programs and referrals as needed.
• Liaise between school, physicians, parents and community.
• Participate in IEP-related health plan implementation and reporting.
• Maintain immunization records and health documentation in accordance with policy.
• Keep clinic organized, compliant with regulations, and stocked with supplies.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain required certifications.
