Job summary

Tri-County Special Education is seeking a Teacher-School Health Aide to support classroom instruction under the guidance of the teacher. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, health-related procedures, and maintaining a safe learning environment.

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or GED, and 60 college credits, with preference for associates. Training will be provided; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED.
• Sixty college credits required; associates preferred.
• Completion of ParaPro or WorkKeys certification is preferred.
• Licensure/registration with Illinois State Board of Education required.
• Experience with disability population is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Training will be required; content determined by supervisor.
• Assist with learning activities aligned to IEP and teacher directions.
• Collaborate as a team member with teachers and staff; punctual attendance.
• Implement school-approved behavior plans under teacher direction.
• Maintain daily records and report student progress as assigned.
• Assist with supervision duties (recess, bus, mealtime, hallway) and material management.
