Job summary

Tri-County Special Education Joint Agreement is seeking a Teacher-School Health Aide to support students under the guidance of licensed staff. The role involves assisting with daily living activities and health-related services to meet student needs within the classroom setting.

Responsibilities include implementing IEP-directed activities, maintaining records, and collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure a safe, productive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Sixty hours of college credit; an Associate degree preferred.
• Degree or higher education may be considered.
• Pass Work Keys or ETS Para-Pro Assessment required.
• Preference for experience with disability-related programs.
• Licensure and register credentials with the Illinois State Board of Education required.

Responsibilities

• Under guidance of the teacher, assist in creating an organized and effective learning environment.
• Carry out learning activities as directed, aligned with IEPs.
• Work as a team member, be punctual, and contribute to a positive learning environment.
• Assist with health-related services and daily living activities as needed.
• Observe and implement health and safety procedures for all students.
• Maintain daily documentation and communicate progress as assigned.
• Assist in field trips supervision and run routine school duties as required.
