Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Guidance/Counseling is required.
• Licensure by the SC Department of Education in Guidance-Elementary or Secondary or Associate Guidance – Secondary or Secondary Advance is required.
• Two years of experience teaching or counseling is required.

Responsibilities

• Discusses the comprehensive school counseling program work plan with school administrators and the supervising director to implement the program.
• Provides leadership for the Guidance Curriculum and collaborates with educators to integrate state guidance curriculum standards for student development.
• Implements developmentally appropriate and prevention-oriented group activities to meet students’ needs and school goals.
• Assists students, individually or in groups, with developing academic, career and personal/social skills, goals, and plans.

Education

Master’s Degree in Guidance/Counseling

Licensure by SC Department of Education in Guidance-Elementary or Secondary or Associate Guidance – Secondary or Secondary Advance
