Job summary

The New York Botanical Garden is seeking an Education Greeter to welcome school groups at the Garden gates and guide them to registered programs. You will be the first touchpoint, delivering information, assistance and orientation on arrival and at departure.

Work is temporary, part-time Tue-Fri 9 AM–1 PM, September 22, 2026 to June 11, 2027 with occasional off-peak filing. Outdoor work in all weather is required; ability to stand or sit for extended periods is essential to greet and manage

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service is required.
• Ability to quickly ascend/descend school bus stairs.
• Fast-paced movement between buses and groups is needed.
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods.
• Driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in school groups at School Gate.
• Provide orientation and assistance at Garden locations as assigned.
• Communicate updates with Registration Office and Education managers.
• Become conversant in activities and interests related to groups' needs.
