Job summary

The School District of Lee County seeks a Worker, Sites at Gateway High in Fort Myers, FL. This full-time role supports campus maintenance, landscaping, and repair across district sites with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Minimum qualifications: high school diploma and valid Florida driver’s license; CDL with air brakes is preferred. Job requires operation of diverse site equipment and coordination with facilities teams.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Valid Florida driver's license is required.
Knowledge of site equipment, tools, seeds, and fertilizers is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain and care for sites and school campuses including asphalt repairs.
Assist in grading soil and installation of sod and mulch.
Mow lawns with hand and/or power tools.
Maintain and service all sites equipment.
Collect and dispose of leaves and refuse.
Assist in installation and repair of fencing and playground equipment.
Spray for weed control and fertilization.
Operate equipment such as bat wing mower, dump truck, bucket truck, front end loader, bobcat, trencher, and tractor.
Comply with safety regulations and use district computer applications for training and record keeping.
Register with the DOT Clearinghouse and maintain CDL licensure if applicable.
