The School District of Lee County is seeking a Worker, Sites to maintain school campuses and outdoor facilities in Fort Myers, FL. The role covers mowing, landscaping, equipment maintenance, and minor repairs, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

• Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and related privacy/regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of site equipment, tools, materials, and their uses.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
• Ability to comply with DOT Clearinghouse requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and care for sites and campuses including asphalt repairs.
• Assist in grading soil and installation of sod and mulch.
• Mow lawns with hand and/or power tools.
• Maintain and service all sites equipment.
• Collect and dispose of leaves and refuse.
• Assist in installation and repair of fencing and playground equipment.
• Spray for weed control and fertilization.
• Operate equipment such as bat wing mower, dump truck, bucket truck, front end loader, bobcat, trencher, and tractor with box blade.
• Comply with safety regulations and procedures.
• Use district computer applications for communication, training, and records.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of a variety of sites equipment, tools, seeds, and fertilizers and related products and their uses.
• Knowledge of general policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
• Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to install and repair outdoor equipment areas, driveways, parking lots, and fencing.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
• Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.
• Ability to comply with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements.
