Job summary

Penn-Delco is seeking a Building & Grounds Monitor in Aston, PA. This part-time role focuses on security, safety, and basic custodial tasks across school buildings and grounds during assigned shifts, including evenings and weekends.

The position requires clearances (Act 34, 114, 151) and involves observing, reporting, and assisting with building safety procedures to support a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Current Act 34, 114 and 151 clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of assigned school buildings and grounds, both interior and exterior, to ensure security and identify potential hazards or unauthorized individuals.
• Observe and report any unusual behavior, conflicts, or disturbances among students or visitors.
• Ensure all doors and windows are properly secured at the end of the day or during assigned shifts.
• Report any maintenance issues that could pose a safety risk (e.g., broken lights, tripping hazards).
• Maintain a visible and approachable presence to deter unauthorized access and promote a sense of security.
• Interact respectfully and professionally with students, staff, parents, and visitors.
• Provide directions and assistance to visitors as needed, ensuring they follow school protocols.
• Immediately report all safety and security concerns, incidents, or emergencies to the Building Principal, Director of Facilities, or appropriate emergency services.
• Communicate effectively with school staff, administration, and facilities personnel.
• Adhere to all district policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Assist with building evacuation procedures during drills or actual emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or Director of Facilities.
