Job summary

Seguin Independent School District is seeking a Grounds Worker in its Maintenance department to perform grounds care and upkeep across district facilities. You will help keep grounds safe, neat, and attractive while operating common grounds equipment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred and a valid Texas Class C driver's license; strong communication and grounds care experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid Texas Class C driver's license required
• Experience in grounds care operations and safe operation of grounds equipment

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks as assigned by the Grounds Foreman and assist other grounds workers as necessary.
• Maintain good attendance, safety, and driving records.
• Perform work in a neat, orderly, and safe manner.
• Operate power-driven ground maintenance equipment.
• Inform grounds foreman of hazardous situations on school grounds and sites.
• Remove hazardous objects from grounds and sites during duties.
• Plant, trim, and feed trees and shrubs; remove dead trees as needed.
• Wear required safety equipment and protective clothing.
• Mow and trim grass and/or shrubs at district sites as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Grounds Foreman and Maintenance Director.
