Job summary

Spring Independent School District is seeking a Grounds Crew member for the Building Operations department in Houston, TX. Immediate starting date with 260 workdays per year and a 14.25–16.77 USD per hour pay scale.

Position requires a valid Texas driver’s license and ability to operate power equipment within safety standards. The role focuses on day-to-day grounds care, mowing, planting, irrigation maintenance, and safe operation of district facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas driver’s license required.
• Preferred: at least 1 year of lawn, gardening and landscape maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety procedures and techniques in daily duties.
• Operate tools, equipment, and machinery per safety rules.
• Lock, inspect, and safeguard equipment and facilities.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Mow and detail district grounds per work orders.
• Care for grass, trees, shrubs and flowers including planting, watering and pruning.
• Collect leaves, dirt and refuse from facilities.
• Manage watering schedules and sprinkler systems as needed.
• Move equipment between facilities and maintain supplies.
• Maintain playground equipment and ensure safety compliance.
• Overtime may be required.
