Job summary

ASHLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT 5 seeks a Cafeteria Manager to oversee the elementary school Food Service team, lead meal preparation, ensure clean, safe operations, and maintain health standards. Supervises staff, delegates tasks, and upholds district policies to provide nutritious meals for students and staff.

You will report to the Director of Nutrition Services, train staff, monitor temperatures, and ensure consistent service in a fast-paced educational environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; prior lead or supervisory food service experience.
• Fluent English verbal and written communication.
• Ability to lead and coordinate a small team.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Math skills for measurements and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Follows and maintains knowledge of all applicable District and department policy(ies) and procedures.
• Prepares school meals including participating in the planning, cutting, cooking and preparation of food items.
• Sets up serving lines and serves food.
• Measures accurate food temperatures.
• Maintains inventory records and rotates stock; verifies deliveries.
