Job summary

Lovington Municipal Schools is seeking a Food Service Substitute Staff member to support daily meal preparation and serving. You will follow recipes and manager instructions, maintain clean, safe work areas, and ensure serving lines remain stocked and organized for students, staff and parents.

The role requires basic cooking and cleaning skills, plus the ability to work in a dynamic school environment with attention to health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of interviews, background checks and fingerprint clearance.
• Submit all employment documents before starting.
• Respect for people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Basic cooking and cleaning skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow all policies, procedures, standards, directives and training.
• Prepare and cook food per recipes and manager instructions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and equipment.
• Keep serving areas clean and stocked, including serving line and salad bars.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and health regulations.
• Serve meals to students, staff and parents.
• Assist fellow workers as needed and rotate stock using FIFO.
• Sweep and mop floors and remove trash as applicable.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth cafeteria operation.
• Report as directed and meet deadlines.
