Job summary

IRVING ISD’s FOOD & NUTRITION SERVICES ASSISTANT positions provide hands-on support for meal preparation, service, cashiering and cleaning duties at the school campus. Staff maintain records of food prepared and leftovers for program accountability, while adhering to safety and sanitation standards.

These roles require basic high school diploma, at least 3 months in food service, and ability to read, write and comprehend English.

Qualifications

• Accredited Senior High School Diploma or valid equivalent (USA equivalency) preferred
• Three months’ food service experience preferred
• Effective planning and organizational skills
• Must be able to read, write , and comprehend the English language to perform functions

Responsibilities

• To support the Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) Department by performing meal preparation, service, cashiering, and cleaning duties at the school campus.
• Requires individuals with the ability to maintain records of amounts of food prepared and leftover for program accountability.
• Adhere to a high level of safety and sanitation standards.

Education
