Job summary

Ashland School District 5 is seeking a Food Service Worker to join the cafeteria team. You will assist in meal preparation, help with serving, and maintain safe, sanitary kitchen operations under supervision.

The position is 0.6875 FTE (5.5 hours per day) with probationary status; compensation is hourly and responsibilities include records and badge-like duties consistent with district policy.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: HS diploma or GED. Previous food service experience preferred.
• Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with students, staff and parents.
• Willingness to follow district policies, safety rules and sanitation standards.
• Computer skills for records and reports are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of school meals and meals planning.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area and observe health regulations.
• Set up serving lines and assist in serving food to students and staff.
• Accurately monitor temperatures and maintain portion control.
