Qualifications

• Previous floor care or custodial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of stripping, waxing, buffing, and burnishing procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• 1. Strip, wax, buff, burnish, and maintain hard surface floors.
• 2. Operate floor care equipment, including auto scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and wet/dry vacuums.
• 3. Perform carpet cleaning, shampooing, and spot removal as needed.
• 4. Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain assigned floor areas daily.
• 5. Maintain hallways, classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, and other assigned areas.
• 6. Properly use, clean, and maintain floor care equipment.
• 7. Follow all safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and operating equipment.
• 8. Place appropriate wet floor signs and safety barriers when performing floor maintenance.
• 9. Report damaged flooring, equipment issues, and unsafe conditions to management.
• 10. Complete assigned tasks within established time frames.
• 11. Assist with general custodial duties when needed.
• 12. Follow all instructions provided by supervisors and management.
