Job summary

HES is seeking a custodian/floor care professional in Georgia to perform a range of cleaning duties across classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. You will strip, wax, buff, and maintain floors, operate floor-care equipment, and report issues to management.

Ideal candidates have prior custodial experience, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or with a team while following safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications

• Previous floor care or custodial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of stripping, waxing, buffing, and burnishing procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Strip, wax, buff, burnish, and maintain hard surface floors.
• Operate floor care equipment, including auto scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and wet/dry vacuums.
• Perform carpet cleaning, shampooing, and spot removal as needed.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain assigned floor areas daily.
• Maintain hallways, classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, and other assigned areas.
• Properly use, clean, and maintain floor care equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and operating equipment.
• Place appropriate wet floor signs and safety barriers when performing floor maintenance.
• Report damaged flooring, equipment issues, and unsafe conditions to management.
• Complete assigned tasks within established time frames.
• Assist with general custodial duties when needed.
• Follow all instructions provided by supervisors and management.
