Job summary

Rowan-Salisbury Schools North Rowan High School in Spencer, North Carolina is seeking a School Treasurer to manage all financial aspects of the school, including payroll, purchasing, and reporting.

The position reports to the Principal and requires accuracy, knowledge of bookkeeping, and familiarity with state purchasing rules. The role starts immediately and is full-time, with pay in line with district scales.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Accuracy and completeness for payroll and financial processing is essential.
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping/accounting is required.
• Understanding of NC School Uniform Chart of Accounts is required.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local purchasing requirements is required.

Responsibilities

• Daily payroll processing of absences and time adjustments.
• Meet payroll deadlines and schedules set by Finance Department.
• Ensure accuracy for substitutes and stipends.
• Verify extra duty pay for all employees.
• Keep records of sick, personal, and annual leave days.
• Order supplies via purchase orders and ensure principal approval.
• Process technology purchases through the TP R process.
• Receive and verify purchase orders and invoices.
• Remit central office invoices to Accounts Payable promptly.
• Balance bank statements and assist Internal Auditor by 15th of following month.
• Monitor General Ledger Reports on the AS400.
• Prepare athletic gate change funds and cash reconciliation.
• File monthly/quarterly Sales and Use Tax returns.
• Attend to clerical duties and greet visitors.
