Job summary

New Story Schools in State College and Dubois is seeking a Maintenance Technician to help create safe, functional learning environments for students aged 5–21. You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and facility improvements that keep our schools running smoothly.

Primarily based in State College, you may travel between regional sites and support grounds, snow removal, and upkeep throughout the year. Strong communication and safety mindset are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in general maintenance or repair services.
• Basic knowledge of drywall repair, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between regional school sites.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections across school facilities.
• Maintain building grounds, equipment, and tools to ensure operational readiness.
• Address and resolve maintenance requests promptly to prevent safety hazards.
• Support snow removal, landscaping, and facility upkeep throughout the year.
