New Story Schools in State College and Dubois seeks a Maintenance Technician to create safe, functional learning environments. You will perform general repairs and preventive maintenance to keep facilities running smoothly across campuses.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years in maintenance, and a valid driver’s license to travel between sites. You’ll join a team dedicated to safety, reliability, and supportive school operations.

Responsibilities

• Address and resolve maintenance requests promptly to prevent safety hazards.
• Support snow removal, landscaping, and facility upkeep throughout the year.

At New Story Schools, we serve students ages 5–21 with autism and emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. Guided by individualized learning, therapeutic integration, and collaboration, we empower students to grow and prepare for meaningful adult lives. Join our team and help students write their new story.

As a Maintenance Technician at New Story Schools, you will help create and maintain safe, functional, and welcoming learning environments for students and staff. You will perform general repairs, preventive maintenance, and facility improvements that keep our schools running smoothly every day.

This position will split locations between New Story School in State College, and New Story School in Dubois. The home school (and majority of the role) will be spent at the State College location.

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least two years of experience in general maintenance or repair services
• Basic knowledge of drywall repair, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between regional school sites
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety
