Job summary

San Marcos CISD is hiring a full-time Custodian to maintain cleanliness across facilities and support a safe learning environment. You will follow routine cleaning procedures, operate cleaning equipment, and report hazards to the Lead Custodian or Associate Director of Custodian Services.

The role requires adherence to district policies, regular attendance, and the ability to work varied shifts. Prior experience is preferred but not mandatory. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and equipment use.
• Knowledge of basic techniques of minor repairs and building systems and operations.
• Experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness to ensure the comfort, health, and safety of students and staff.
• Clean assigned areas within the allotted time and use appropriate cleaning equipment.
• Follow safety procedures, report hazards or emergencies to supervisors.
• Secure facilities, regulate heating/ventilation systems, and manage supplies.
• Attend trainings and maintain a neat, professional appearance as required.
