Job summary

Muleshoeisd Maintenance is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to uphold school facilities, cleaning schedules, and safety standards across buildings and grounds.

The role covers cleaning, basic repairs, equipment operation, and safe handling of supplies, with a focus on keeping classrooms, hallways, and outdoor areas in ready condition for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance.
• Experience in framing, and general construction, electrical and plumbing.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.
• Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning: maintain a cleaning schedule for floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms.
• Keep school building and grounds neat and clean, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas.
• Assist with lunchroom setup and arrange tables.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report major repair needs to principal.
• Regulate HVAC to provide comfortable temperatures and economical energy use.
• Assist in setting up facilities for special events.

Job Description

PrimaryPurpose:

Maintain district facilities using routine procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and e?ciency of building operations and grounds.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Cleaning

• Maintain a cleaning schedule that will include cleaning of ?oors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms.
• Keep school building and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas, neat and clean.

• Assist with opening and closing building each school day checking to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during hours of building occupancy follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.

• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, and climbing. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
