Job summary

Sequoya Elementary School in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Facilities Coordinator I to oversee custodial staff, manage routine and semi-skilled maintenance, and ensure a clean, safe environment for students and staff. The role requires a high school diploma or GED with two years of maintenance experience; Arizona driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, or G.E.D., and two years of relevant maintenance experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
• Knowledge of supervisory principles and safety procedures
• Experience with heating and cooling systems and basic mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems

Responsibilities

• Oversees district employees or contracted workers, prioritizing and assigning work and ensuring staff training
• Conducts inspections of facilities to ensure systems operate properly and meet standards
• Maintains and monitors district equipment and facilities, schedules maintenance and orders supplies
• Provides customer service by responding to requests from staff, administrators, parents, vendors, visitors, and students
• Coordinates facility activities for events, moves, and preventative maintenance
• Responds to emergency situations
• Maintains schedules, work orders, logs, and reports and submits data to appropriate staff
• Participates in facility expansion and renovation meetings and design activities
• Coordinates staffing and support for after-school athletics and events
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
