Job summary

HES in Manhattan, KS is seeking a flexible mover/utility technician to support school facilities by moving furniture, setting up classrooms, and assisting with light grounds work. No prior experience required; training provided; pay rate $18/hr.

You will work with a team, follow safety procedures, lift up to 50 lbs, and contribute to clean, organized spaces across campus. Benefits include insurance options and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, follow instructions, and work as part of a team.
• Punctual, dependable, and professional demeanor.
• Must be able to work with a diverse group of people.
• Willingness to learn and take initiative.
• Previous moving or general labor experience is a plus but not required.
• Previous grounds experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and transport furniture and classroom equipment within the school building.
• Set up and arrange classrooms or event spaces according to provided layout plans.
• Handle materials carefully, following all safety procedures and lifting protocols.
• Assist with organizing storage spaces and maintaining clean, hazard-free work areas.
• Work collaboratively with team members and take directions from supervisors.
• Grounds or landscaping tasks as needed.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
