Job summary

Redwood City School District is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repairs, and construction of school facilities. You will work across electrical, plumbing, locksmithing and carpentry trades, supporting grounds maintenance and equipment upkeep.

Responsibilities include routine repairs, assisting skilled trades, and ensuring safe operation of tools and systems. Strong reading of blueprints and ability to work from diagrams is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in repair, maintenance or construction fields such as electrical, plumbing, locksmithing or carpentry.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, schematics and sketches.
• Knowledge of safety methods and procedures in building trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine semi-skilled maintenance and repair of district buildings, grounds and equipment.
• Assist in skilled maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Assist in carpentry work including alterations, repairs of buildings, cabinets, floors, doors and furniture.
• Service and repair District equipment; perform adjustments as needed.
• Assist with electrical, plumbing and boiler system repairs and routine plumbing repairs.
