Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance and repairs.
• Availability for emergency calls.

• Must use tact and diplomacy in human relations.
• References must be provided.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends included.

Responsibilities

• Inspect school buildings and grounds regularly and make repairs as needed.
• Inspect maintenance equipment and vehicles regularly and repair as needed.
• Coordinate and prioritize building repair and maintenance activities.
• Carry out a preventative maintenance program for facilities, grounds and equipment as directed.
• Inspect work by outside contractors to ensure high quality work per specifications.
• Regularly inspect and repair inside/outside equipment to ensure a safe environment.
• Regularly inspect school safety equipment (fire extinguishers, emergency lights).
• Mow and trim around buildings and grounds as scheduled.
• Review work orders daily and complete them promptly.
• Assist in snow removal and salting of driveways, parking areas and walks to maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate with principals and building staff about maintenance projects.
• Keep work environment clean, orderly and safe.
• Assist the Director of Operations with building audits and other tasks.
• Promote a positive relationship with students, staff and community.
• Adhere to attendance and punctuality expectations.
