Job summary

O’Fallon Township High School District #203 is seeking a dependable Maintenance Worker to support safe, functional, and well-maintained facilities for students and staff. The role involves hands-on repairs, preventive maintenance, and responding to facility needs across district buildings and grounds.

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, you’ll contribute to daily operations and long-term upkeep, performing tasks in five areas: carpentry, mechanical systems, preventive maintenance,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Familiarity with building trades: mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, etc.
• Ability to operate hand tools and power tools.
• Familiarity with HVAC, fire suppression, security, and communications systems.
• Ability to read and follow multi-step instructions, blueprints, and safety data sheets.
• Basic math skills; comply with safety and ADA requirements.
• No criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform building repairs and carpentry tasks (doors, windows, walls, flooring, hardware).
• Maintain mechanical systems: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, and other building systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections; prepare equipment for inspections.
• Support safety and security: Emergency egress, inspections, and after-hours security tasks.
• Provide general support: operate district vehicles, deliver supplies, assist custodial and grounds staff.
