Job summary

Moore County Schools in Carthage, NC is seeking an Area Maintenance Technician to support school facilities and operations. You will respond to work orders, perform light carpentry and electrical repairs, replace fixtures, and maintain HVAC systems to ensure safe, reliable school environments.

This 12-month, non-exempt position reports to the Director for Maintenance. Candidates should have a high school diploma, trades experience, and a North Carolina driver’s license; a school electrical

Qualifications

Graduation from High School or equivalent.
Considerable experience in one or more of the trades common to building maintenance.
Valid North Carolina driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain a school electrical license.

Responsibilities

Provides maintenance support to the assigned school(s) by work orders from the principal or maintenance office.
Replaces light bulbs and ballasts, receptacles, switches.
Changes filters on HVAC systems on routine schedule.
Checks fire extinguishers on a weekly basis.
Maintains bathroom fixtures and plumbing.
Performs light carpentry and electrical repairs.
Repairs desks, chairs and other furniture and equipment as necessary.
Preforms repairs to roofs, gutters and drains.
Repairs to drywall and tile work as needed.
Responds to after-hours emergencies as required.
