Job summary
Hazleton Area School District District Wide is seeking a General Maintenance professional to support the Maintenance department. The position reports to the Head Custodian and requires ensuring the building and grounds are maintained for full educational use, with duties spanning maintenance, safety and energy efficiency.
Starting immediately, you will perform repairs, schedule preventive maintenance, and operate within established safety standards.
Qualifications
- Must perform minor mechanical work including electrical, carpentry, plumbing and painting.
- Maintain preventive maintenance program per Head Custodian.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions.
- Proficient with basic computer skills and data entry.
- Valid PA Driver’s License.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in general maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair work maintaining safety and efficiency.
- Recommend supplies and equipment to meet school needs.
- Promote safety, health and comfort of students and staff.
- Maintain HVAC systems for appropriate temperatures and energy efficiency.
- Stay on premises during required times as directed.
- Report security issues to Head Custodian.
- Supply own tools; district provides specialty tools.
- Attend to any duties assigned by Head Custodian.
- Regular attendance is essential.
