Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Head Custodian to supervise custodial staff, oversee daily operations, and ensure a safe, clean environment for staff and students. The role covers school-based and district-level work under the Regional Custodial Services Supervisor.

Responsibilities include leading teams, scheduling, inspecting work, addressing incidents, training staff on chemicals and equipment, and coordinating with other departments to maintain facilities and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead, manage, supervise custodial staff.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; 3 years custodial experience required.
• Valid driver’s license or own transportation; travel to school district facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff in the district.
• Record personnel issues in key incident journals.
• Assist area leader in the preparation of work schedules.
• Complete quality assurance inspection reports and submit to area leader.
• Train new staff regarding cleaning chemicals, equipment, and related supplies.
