Job summary

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is seeking a Plant Engineer Class B for West Middle School. The role oversees physical and mechanical maintenance of the building, its equipment and grounds, and coordinates scheduling, training, supervision and evaluation of maintenance staff in cooperation with the building principal.

Open to applicants who can obtain a Boiler Operator's License within one year. 40 hours per week with responsibilities including supervising and coordinating maintenance

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work with administration and bargaining unit members.
  • Past attendance and job performance record must be satisfactory to administration.
  • Satisfactory completion of contractual training requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for all building maintenance/custodial staff and the proper discharge of their duties.
  • Operate, care and maintain heating, ventilating, lighting and plumbing systems in the building.
  • Supervise care, maintenance and repairs of the building, equipment and grounds.
  • Schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate day personnel and the afternoon maintenance supervisor.
  • Provide service for public meetings and in-school activities, acting as a representative of school administration.
  • Responsible for 24-hour care and maintenance of the school plant.
  • Make recommendations for supplies and equipment for the school plant.
