Job summary

Glen Ridge School District is seeking a part-time Custodian (12 months, 5.5 hours) to support cleaning and maintenance across school facilities. Duties include securing buildings, cleaning classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and floors; assisting with set-up for events and deliveries; and maintaining outdoor areas as required.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma and, preferably, prior custodial experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous custodial/maintenance desirable.
• NJ Driver's License or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure building at beginning and end of shift for safety and cleanliness.
• Clean rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices and other areas according to district standards.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip and wax floors; clean carpets and blinds.
• Washes walls, windows, doors and sills; remove graffiti; clean glass areas.
• Set up and break down furniture in meeting rooms and other spaces.
• Perform grounds-keeping duties and snow/ice removal as needed.
• Receive deliveries and distribute supplies; assist in recycling program.
• Assist with events and other duties as assigned.
