Job summary

Glen Ridge Board Of Education is seeking a custodian for a 12-month part-time position (5.5 hours) to maintain cleanliness in school buildings and grounds. Under supervision, the role includes cleaning, basic maintenance, and event support for students, staff and visitors.

The duties include securing the building, handling supplies, snow removal, and ensuring safety. Education: High School Diploma preferred; prior custodial experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Reads, writes and speaks English fluently.
• Able to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor and coordinate with others.
• HS diploma or equivalent is required; prior cleaning/maintenance experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure building at start/end of shift.
• Clean rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and other areas according to district standards.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip, and wax floors.
• Clean rugs, carpets, blinds and windows.
• Perform snow removal and apply ice-melting materials.
• Assist in loading/unloading supplies and deliver to classrooms and facilities.
• Support during events and maintain cleanliness during vacations.
