Job summary

Dolton West School District 148 is seeking a dedicated 12-month custodian to support school operations. The role runs Monday through Friday with compensation hourly according to the current DSA agreement.

Custodial personnel will perform a wide range of duties including cleaning, maintenance, and safety compliance, under the direction of district leadership and the Custodial Supervisor. Candidates must pass a background check and can expect routine trainings and shifts aligned with school needs.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check is required.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to learn routine and non-routine maintenance methods.

Responsibilities

• Comply with the district's safety policies and risk management procedures.
• Perform custodial duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Business Manager, and Supervisors.
• Maintain building interiors including painting, flooring, carpet care, and equipment.
• Respond to requests from administration such as setting up meetings, moving furniture, and deliveries.
• Ensure building security by opening/closing as required.
• Operate and maintain snow removal and other maintenance equipment.
• Attend in-service training to improve knowledge of custodial work.
