Job summary

Family Life Academy Charter Schools is seeking a School Custodian to provide custodial services at the assigned site, ensuring a clean, safe, and attractive environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role reports to the Principal, Head Custodians, and Network Supervisor for annual evaluation.

The position involves cleaning classrooms, offices, gym, and restrooms; performing light maintenance and repairs; and traveling to nearby schools as needed. NYS fingerprint clearance is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; facilities-related education preferred.
• Must be able to lift 35+ lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and conscientiousness.
• Previous custodian/janitorial experience beneficial.
• Nurturing, welcoming personality.
• NYS fingerprint clearance required.
• Driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned facilities to maintain a sanitary, safe environment.
• Move books, files, and furniture as needed.
• Sterilize high-use areas to reduce bacteria.
• Travel to nearby sites as required.
• Perform building maintenance and minor repairs.
• Attend meetings and training as required.
• Maintain exterior of sites including snow/ice removal.
• Carry a handheld radio while on school property when assigned.
