Job summary

Anson County Schools in Peachland is seeking a Custodian to perform general cleaning and maintenance at Polkton Elementary School. The role reports to the Maintenance Director and runs on an 11-month term with compensation based on the state salary schedule.

Requirements include a valid NC driver's license, strong math and communication skills, and willingness to pursue professional development. Prior relevant experience is preferred and high school/trade school degree is desirable.

Qualifications

• Valid NC Driver's License required.
• Strong math, communications, and computer skills necessary.
• Willingness to attend classes for professional development.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• High School/Trade School degree preferred.
• Citizenship must be documented.

Responsibilities

• General building cleaning and maintenance.
• Monitoring heating, cooling, and plumbing systems.
• Monitoring security system – setting alarms and changing alarm system when necessary.
• Using technology to generate reports in the area of inventory, submitting maintenance requests, completing necessary computer generated training in the area of safety, following procedures, and correct usage of cleaning supplies.
• Must have a working knowledge of cleaning methods.
• Must have experience in using equipment such as high speed buffer, floor scrubber, etc.
• Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions.
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships while accepting customer feedback.
• Perform duties in accordance with established practices and cleaning schedules.
